In a BBC news report on a preliminary research discovery that testicles may become a source for stem cells, Professor Robin Lovell-Badge (how British is that name?) is quoted as saying that further work needs to be done; therefore the issue “will have to be left dangling a little longer.” Could you turn your head and cough while you say that?
Seriously, these results are exciting, and it’s interesting to think about men being donors for stem cells – for so long, it’s been women and embryos who’ve been targeted as the only possible source. What do you say, guys – would you donate for the team? If so, you deserve our sincerest congratulations – that kind of pure-hearted altruism takes, well,…balls.
