Feeling trampled by your insurance carrier? Trying to dig yourself out of mountains of baffling hospital bills?
Too sick to negotiate anything about your care? Here’s a nice article about health advocates and what they can do for you - proving once again that where there’s a serious need, someone will step up and fill it. Even if you’re hale and hearty, this is the kind of information you want to keep somewhere. Let’s hope you never need it, but if you do, you’ll be glad to know it exists. One of the reasons our healthcare “system” is such a mess for so many people is because, once you get sucked into the process, you’re often too sick or emotionally/physically overwhelmed to advocate for change - either during or after. Having someone in your corner can be a life-saver. Let’s all hope for the day when, instead of a burgeoning field, healthcare advocates are a curious oddity from dark-ages-past.

I’ve been in healthcare for over 20 yrs and this is the first I’ve heard of this-what a great service! If I had a nickel for every person I’ve talked to who has had trouble with medical billing……
Thanks for letting us know of this resource! Mary
