Here’s the kind of news/study that makes the extensive staff located at Doc Gurley Headquarters (okay, me) smile. Every once in a while, something that people have known for a long time (read: usually women) gets “discovered” and someone publishes a “study” about it, complete with widespread media coverage and a big citation-credit for their tenure review. In this case, it’s the announcement that breast milk can be flavored by what you eat. Probably every woman who’s ever breastfed is fighting the conflicting urge to both say “well, duh,” and to shout “it’s about time someone got interested.” Check out this interesting topic for yourself - one of the nice things is that the researchers actually timed how long the flavor lasted for different substances (I don’t think I want to know how, exactly, how they did that…).
